Clothing in Norway

It will be so much fun to read these things back later:) everything wjat was new for me and different.
I regret not writing a blog when i moved to london coz i could have read it back and would have seen i felt the same way when i left budapest (i loved it more than ever lol) and how scared i was etc.

But now i wanna talk about clothing.
Its funny, whoever is into nike stuff for example, can buy it here for pretty cheap i think coz its not a big brand. Here its all about the helly hansen, stormberg, canada goose, parajumpers etc.
But of course!!  You need to good quality wool underclothes and normal clothes etc.
What i noticed, that most of the sweaters (polar ones 90% and wool:)) they have long necks like very long. And the jackets as well.
And here everyone has that reflex armband what we played with when we were kids:))))
Of course i will probably get some as well coz its dark all the time almost, so we do need it:)

England vs. Norway

Now i can write a sort of comparism blog entry.
Not about working environment exactly, because i'm not working in the same environment.

My recent visit has made me more clear in what i already suspected.
London as it is..... i don't miss it. i don't miss the stress, the distance, etc.
I do however miss the people, my friends, etc.
I went to visit my ex-workplace, and spent more then 6hours there..lol..it was so good to see them all again. Tried to chat with everyone, but time passed by so quickly.

The other thing i miss so much is the food. The little things like Maltesers!!! OMG how much i loves those little drops of Heaven :)
And the cake powders, different chocolates, poundland!!! ridiculous how everything is so cheap!!
Clothes and all! Ah..lol
So im actually thinking about looking into opening a little shop where i can sell candies and stuff from there..i will look into it, coz i don't have the capital for that i guess nor the papers but will see :)

TOLL.NO !!!!!!

Again, i hope im not the only stupid one according to the DHL customer service b..tch.....and i can help other ppp make the same mistake like me.
So the DHL B...she was basically telling me everyone checks toll.no and of course i shld have done that when i moved here. Wtf?? How? Argh forget her.
So i ordered UGG boots on the europian website coz i saved like 40euros like that compared to buying it here. They didnt deliver to france bt did her so okay i gave my address. But little did i know that i need to pay VAT, import tax ,customs, whatever the hell it is. They didnt day on the website that be careful or anything not one warning that u r trying to ship to a country where u need to pay tax etc. I think there should have been a warning though. Anyways i ended up paying extra 900kr so like 90euros so screw them and now i learnt my lesson

Cheap spices

Thats one important thing- for me:)
In TGR (tiger) you can buy very cheap spices and in very big bags.

Dnummer- personnummer udi politi

Hi everyone.
So finally an update:)
When i moved here i applied for a dnummer from NAV because i didnt have a job..
Now that i have one, the next step is to register at the Police and get personnummer which is the permanent perosnal number (the dnummer is temporarly).

What you need to do it to register at UDI and get an appointment there which is going to be with the police.
All you need to take with you is:
- copy of your passport
- work contract
-3 payslips (i only had 2 and it was okay).

They give you the registration paper immediately and then they give you a number to the other department. You wait your turn, fill out the document they gave you and go to get your personnummer.:)

It will take 1 week-10 days to send it out.

The other application form what they send you when you register...and the things on the checklsit...those are for the permanent residency, when you are here for 5 years.

October update

Hello Fall,

It is getting a bit colder which i don't mind at all:)
So i moved to my new apartment on friday:)))
Its beautiful and great! Of course i don't feel at home just yet but why would i, i only moved in now.
I will be able to rent it probably til summer only or we will see. But the owner is very nice and i bought loads of plants so looks really cosy:)
For now im greatful and glad im settled.
Not that bad, it took 4 month (including a 1 month course and travelling home for 3 weeks) to get a job and a place.
Im proud of myself:)
Of course its only the beginning i needed this to start somewhere.
Didnt want to work in restaurant, wanted to work with kids if possible.
Not great money at all, and the lady im working with is not my age so we dont have too much in common but she is nice and it will be fine i hope.
So now im starting somewhere amd thats the point.
1 year. I give myself 1 year in this.
I will get a weekend job if i have to coz the salary-rent situation is a bit tight...:) but will study and study a lot! And 1 yr from now hopefully i will have a great office job and will find another apartment if i must go from this.
For now i miss office job.. i miss dressing up and all.
But its nice and calm in the barnehage... so its okay. I will see how it is and if i want to keep working in barnehage or with kids.
I will do it for a year and see how it will be.

Im here in my new apartment now but bit lonely.. i knew this will happen but its okay. I will be fine coz i am happy on my own and thats what we all need to do! Be happy on our own first:)
I will be able to attend so many events now that i live in oslo:)
Yesterday went to Comedy club (in english) and met some great ppl who i will def keep in touch with!
Monday im going to the boardgame meeting. First time im trying it but im sure it will be fun.
This MEETUP application is amazing, its a great way to meet people and do fun things!:)

Hopefully i will meet someone potential there:) So far i had another lesson from life..its always a bit painful when you have your hopes high...but i guess we need to learn to trust ourselves only.
And until that im enjoying my life and live very happily :)

I am happy here

Today i had an epiphany if you like, that i am happy here. Its quiet and peaceful and full of new opportunities.
Today is the first day i feel like it was worth moving here.
Im happy and not because something or someone made me happy. Just happy with myself and i think thats the most important thing☺
Of course new challanges will come once i work full time and live alone but oh gosh it will be so amazing! I can have people over and just be on my own and do whatever i want to whenever i want to with whoever i want to:)
It will be great to have my freedom back. Okay its not like im not free now haha i am but my independence yes thats the correct word.
Friends and love will come i know it will with time so im really not worried about it.
Everything is going to be as it is supposed to be.
Ive been thinking about certain things the past few days and im happy im changing and growing with each day and become wiser but im not sharing my deepest thoughts right now:)
The point is that life is full of opportunities so just grab them and dont be afraid!
The time i wasted in London as in the time i wasted not doing anything i will be doing the opposite here. Meet new people go to places and enjoy the nature and embrace life ☺💖

August

Its been a while again since i wrote but nothing has been happening much.
I did get a vikar job in kindergarten but will see where it will go. Fingers crossed to have a fixed one there as well it would be pretty cool.
I will have to start going to these meetup events to meet new people and i can write about the experience.
Meetup review:) i think it will be great people are very friendly here.

MinID and helsetrygdkort aka European health card

Sooooo. Hello again:)
This time its about the MinID. Basically i wanted to register as a jobseeker on NAVs website and they needed this MinID or BankID to login. Since i still dont have bank account....i requested the MinID and they sent it via post so that was easy:)
And since i have that i could also request the EU health card so thats done as well.

Education recognition @ NOKUT

http://www.nokut.no/en/Foreign-education/NOKUTs-general-recognition/Apply-for-recognition/

Thanks to all the forums i realized there is this website where you can get youe higher level education recognized. It does take around 2 month though.
i dont know if companies need it or not but its good to have it so you can see what is your level and also you need it if you wanna study and just general it doesnt hurt to have your eductaion approved and recognized in norwegian. I think its free, you only pay for the stamp when you send the papers in;))
I will do it and update. Xoxo

Innocent smoothes

Yes they sell them here - thank God!
  • Meny
  • Ultra
  • Narvesen
  • 7-Eleven
  • Deli de Luca
Havent checked them yet, don't know if they have just the small size but will see soon;)

London vs. Oslo

I miss London....i miss my friends, colleauges..
Yesterday i was looking at some pictures and today im watching Oprhan Black where they flew back to london lol.
i miss it. But i guess coz i feel a bit lonely here since i dont have friends yet and havent started living my life as i did in london.
This is a whole different lifestyle here, but this is what i signed up for :)
It is very different. True that there are not many things you can visit as in many sightseeing places but there are the fjords and all the beautiful places you can go to.
i knew this when i moved here and in fine with this:)
It is really a place for outdoorsy people.
One thing which gives me peace when i miss london and the busy life is that i didnt go out on the weekends much anyways so its not like it will be so different here .
i loved going to the parks in london and here i can just drive anywhere and everything is green and all so i love that!!
Hopefully i will soon have a job and can move to my own place and can start living;)
And then i will write a comparism blog entry about it:))

Who is reading the posts?:)

Okay all i can see is that few ppl read it and plus 1'd it but who is reading it? I dont even know who can see it:)

Districts

This is just a bit info about the districts here around oslo

How to start in norge

Okay according to a fellow hungarian, these are the steps:

You arrive and register at the police station-politi-.
Then you go to skattestaten and apply for d-nummer (although i heard you need a job and all but i have no idea..i got my dnummer via nav..)
Then if you have a flat you will have contract (in my case nothing coz i live w my fam)
Then if you get a job, then you will be registered etc and can open a bankaccount.
then after working for 3month, you take the 3 lønnslip with you plus housecontract plus arbeidskontrakt plus passport and you get the personnummer which gives you residency for 5 years.

Well i will update on all this along the way. And also on tuesday after my appt with politi

Things you need -or at least i do when relocating

Okay so. First you gonna need
d nummer and once you have a job and after working for 3 month or so you will have the permanent personnummer.
i went to NAV straight and applied for the dnummer and now i have it.
i didnt go to the police first coz ive been told i dont need to but i got an appointment and will go next tuesday and i will clear everytbing coz for now its complicated:)

Drivers licence - so i went to exchange my licence today.. not happening.. first they told me to come back w dnummer. Okay i did. And now they told me that i can change the hungarian to norwegian BUT with dnummer it will only be valid for 4yrs. And i need to change it once i have the permanent (personnummer). Sigh.
so again, i couldnt do anything about it so i will have to wait...

Bank account - so apparently there is no way you can open bankaccount with dnummer only:(( you need to have a job.
skandiabanken allows you to open w passport only but they need personnummer and not dnummer. Argh

Helse kort - its like the EU health card. But you can only register with BankID so you need to have bankaccount first...
idporten.difi.no

Buying a car

Dont know much about it yet but you can find deals on finn.no -where you find everything!! Its like gumtree in UK.

And also supposedly autopartner.no gives good deals as well.
will update this section if i have info

Polish shops

We love polish shops because the food is like at home in hungary:)
So here is some info what i got from fellow hungarians:

At the Hausmannsgate bus stop there is a polish shop. The name is some russian name..
Below the Anker studetbolig hus there is a Narvesen and its on the corner

Also at Storgata there is a butikk called My Call next to 7/11and next to it there is a vegetable stand (zoldseges) and on the top floor there are some frozen goodies like derelye and also turo rudi :)

Trains

Just a little fact.
on long distance trains you can put the seat back so it's more comfy -like in the car.
and you have the opportunity to plug your headphones in and listen to radio or so while travelling.
Impressive much?:)

Saturday, 13 June 2015

Mobile apps

Important and useful applications to have:
NSB- you can check train times and buy ticket as well.
RuterBillett- to buy ticket but i dont really use that. I use NSB to check train times and i use RuterReise to check the bus times.

Oyster

Yeah im posting random updates but when i think of something i wanna write down before i forget.
so not oyster but travelcard.
it is indeed expensive :(((
I thought it will be cheaper here than in london.
Monthly travel card (reisekort) costs 1210kr which is around 100 pounds or so.
but its funny coz again like 80% of ppl have their tickets and travelcards on their mobile phones so just show the phone to the driver.

Today im taking the express bus to oslo from the house which should be 30mins so its fast.
So funny, we stopped at a stop and before we left - turns out we were about to get on the high way- everyone put on their seatbelt around me so of course i followed lol.
SAFETY FIRST:)

Wednesday, 10 June 2015

Its so great that everyone speaks english....

....and by everyone i mean everyone!!!!
I dont even ask them anymore if they speak english i just start talking coz i know they do.

Im starting my intensive norsk kurs on the 6th of july. 3 weeks and 4times a week so it will be good.

And then home and paris for 2 weeks yay

And after that i better get a proper job with my norwegian knowledge and all:)

Monday, 8 June 2015

You know you are in Norway....

....when you go on Tinder and every second guy's picture is either hiking or skiing haha.
it is really pretty here.. i am actuallt looking forward to having my own place and start my life here.
i was driving today and it was fine so i will be okay lol.
it reminds me of the states, but of course coz thats where i was living and driving and it just made me feel free.
it doesnt really give me the same feeling now, but then again, i've only been here for a week. Not only.
I know its a pretty good achievement that i am in this foreign country alone basically and im going after everything, getting it all sorted.
But i guess this is how i am, i mean i adapt to moving and new environment quickly.
Its one thing that i dont feel at home yet and its weird but im just going with the flow like always, and the road will take me where i suppose to be.

Sunday, 7 June 2015

uk and usa is here

Okay. So the good things are that we have loads of UK shows on tv and also we have loads of US shows on tv.
Old ones but still its Ellen and all:))). Yaayyy

And there is boots here and 7eleven:))

Today i drove in oslo a bit and back from there so driving is okay as well.

Updates before i forget

So there is Boots here yayyy and also the english mustard i love so much. Lol
not big things but hey, after spending almost 4yrs in london i do miss things.
i actually miss that it was huge w lot of places to go to however my sister pointed out that i hardly really went haha. True story:)
Also there is subway as well which is good and 7eleven gosh last time i was there it was in the states!! Gotta check them all out.

I took 2 online test and both said i need to go on the B1 course which is intermediate so its good.
i actually do remember more then i thought i do and at times its not like i need to struggle to put a sentence together but words just flow easily so its great.

I do feel i will be a bit lonely once i hv a job and move to my own place but thats when my life here will really begin and we will see.

Thursday, 4 June 2015

First days

Okay so i've been here for 2 days now..
first day i did nothing was just browsing on the net and registering my cv and applying for jobs.
today i went to the NAV to start the D nummer process what you need to open a bankaccount and basicalt you just need it anyways. After 6 month this should be changed to personal number and for residents its national id or something like this :)
It will take 3 weeks to get it and when i go back i can register as jobseeker and maybe go to some course (kurs) or praksisplass.

I have mixed feelings. Right now i feel like i dont wanna be here i wont be happy but i know i will its just the beginning.
its harder then london coz i dont have friends here and i stay w my aunt who is very nice but its diff then to be w friends.
i feel lost and i cant find my place but i know it will be fine.
i just feel alone without friends and family, my close family.
but i will get there...i hope i will enjoy it more and more.

Friday, 15 May 2015

Well i have to say i am amazed already by the hungarian ppl in oslo. 3 person sent me message in private saying they can help in whatever i need and one even called me.
i mean wow.
i am really looking forward to moving there and find a job and settle in.
i hope it will all work out the best!!

What i found out is that i have to go to NAV first before anything and start the process for d nummer.
i will post it all once im there and start the process.

I also want to get the norwegian driving  licence.

I am looking forward to find all the things i loved in london:))

Small things but eg. There is ALPRO in norge as well yayy:)))

Thursday, 14 May 2015

Hi guys.

Either i will be writing it to myself or others will read it as well...:)
I just want to sum up all important info about arriving to oslo and starting a new life here. The bits and bots and what you need to do and pay attention to.
and since im moving from london UK i will be posting things i miss from there and can find in oslo:)
